Lieutenant Michael ben Elyon is thrust into the position of commander after he defends the King’s throne from Lucifer Haylel. But his decision to remain loyal costs him everything he loves. Now mistrusted by the rest of the host, Michael trains for war under the mentorship of his Captain. But their growing relationship is threatened as Michael struggles to reconcile the existence of pain and suffering in light of the King’s power and professed love. Although Michael vows never to join Lucifer, he must choose between allegiance to the King or abandoning his position as commander to become a vigilante.

Thus begins Prophecy of the Heir, a five-book fantasy-inspired version of the Bible from Genesis to Revelation beginning with Creation and the enthronement of Lucifer as god of this world. Travel through history with Michael the Archangel as he battles against all the forces of evil to ensure the prophecy of the long-awaited heir is fulfilled.

What's in a Name?

The Prophecy of the Heir series gets it title from a prophecy in the first book based on Genesis 3:15. “You [Satan] will strike his heal, but he will strike your head.” Everything in the series hinges on that prophecy coming true. The fulfillment of the first part of the prophecy is the midpoint of the series (and the midpoint of Redemptive History). The second part of the prophecy is the climax of the series (and the climax of Redemptive history).

Tree Skull

The Series Icon

A white tree growing atop a blackened skull. It’s a vision that haunts Commander Michael ben Elyon in book three as he tries to deny the reality of the prophecy and all its implications.

The white tree hints at the Tree of Life, and the cross being a tree, as well as symbolizing the author of life itself. The blackened skull represents the curse of death and hints at Golgotha, a hill outside Jerusalem known as the place of the skull

The Story behind the Story

The Prophecy of the Heir series is the fiction (fantasy-inspired) version of the War of the Gods. It spans all of Redemptive History from the completion of the Book of Life which triggers creation to the breaking of the curse of death and the renewal and restoration of the earth.

JC started writing Prophecy of the Heir back in 2004. In 2007, an unpublished draft won a writing award (based on how much of a page-turner it was). In 2012, she published an early version (which covered the entire Old Testament in one novel).

But reader feedback pointed out that only those familiar with the Bible would be able to follow the plot as she glazed over Scripture to focus on the interplay between the angel and demon characters. So in 2018, JC released Primordium—a fully expanded novel that covered the first one-third of the original book.

Once again the series was put on hold as JC began studying the origin of Christian doctrines and then attended university for Biblical Studies.  It was during that time that she began working on the War of the Gods with Prophecy of the Heir in mind. With the War of the Gods finalized, JC was able to plot the entire 5-book series in detail and in 2022 updated Primordium for series consistency. With her nonfiction projects now out of the way, she is free to devote all her writing time to Prophecy of the Heir. The next two books will be released in 2023, and the fourth and fifth books released in 2024 and 2025, respectively.
